Soccer is perhaps the most popular ball game that is played everywhere, in schools, in large stadiums and by everyone, both rich and poor, black and white. Its simplicity and ease of enjoyment have made it the second most popular youth sport in America, with over 6,000,000 kids currently playing.

However the question who invented soccer will probably never get an accurate answer in many parts of the world the game has been worshiped sometimes even like a religion. Soccer is more based on principles than rules. In order to shape the game and its outcomes the referee is given a lot of responsability and authority to interpret the rules.

Soccer is the only sport in the world that needs next to nothing to play. All you need is a ball and, in some cases, not even that. The game is like a passion for millions all over the globe. In Europe and South America it is the number 1 sport. In North America soccer ranks behind baseball, basketball, hockey and football. A soccer player needs to develop his technical abilities but he also requires strength. Stronger players are faster and not as easily knocked off the ball. You need to be able to keep a healthy balance between technique and power.
